Rise Up: A Theme For Megan Rapinoe

Your Why:       Why do you teach yoga?

Theme:            Rise Up, A theme dedicated to Megan Rapinoe.

HOVs:              Live Fearlessly, Authentically, Unapologetically

Anecdote:

Buddha said suffering is a choice. You can look at life’s obstacles as a chance to suffer, or to rise. Megan Rapinoe, the Golden Boot winner of the World Cup, Olympic Medalist and out and proud woman, did not focus on the internet hate and criticism coming from everywhere including the White House. Instead, she focused on her game.  And freaking won.

Contemplations:

How do you react when times get tough? Do you choose to wallow? Do you choose to rise? We get to live this life, with ups and downs. What we do with it is our choice. Shame needs three things to grow: secrecy, silence and judgment. You have to be complicit to feel shame. What can we learn? Where can we grow?

Golden Nuggets:
·      Live out loud.

·      Focus on your game.

·      Thank your haters for sharing, and move on.

·      Rise up.

·      Score!

·      Suffering is optional.

·      You get to do this life.

·      You do not have to hustle for your worthiness. You have to own it.

·      Stand tall!

·      You will never regret the effort.

·      Be proud.

·      Dare greatly.

·      Do. Not. Shut. Up.

VP        Life happens, and you can choose to rise or to suffer.
