Yogi, Muse, Teacher, Student.

Michelle Marchildon is the Yogi Muse. She is an award-winning journalist, author of several books on yoga, and an accredited teacher of yoga, yoga therapy, and functional mobility movement. She leads yoga trainings at the 300 level and hosts online classes for students worldwide.

Michelle writes The Yogi Muse Blog and offers the Theme Weaver books for yoga teachers who wish to master the art of inspiration. Her memoir, Finding More on the Mat: How I Grew Better, Wiser and Stronger through Yoga (Hohm Press) is available worldwide. She co-authored with Desiree Rumbaugh, Fearless After Fifty: How to Thrive with Grace, Grit and Yoga, which shows how to use yoga to be resilient in life.

Michelle received her masters from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and B.A. from Skidmore College. You can find her in Yoga Journal, Yoga International, Sports Illustrated and Elephant Journal among other publications. Her yoga classes are available on www.yogadownload.com and the Yoga Journal online library. She is based in Denver, Colorado.

Charities

Michelle supports the rights, welfare and sanctuaries of animals. She donates her time and money to various programs including the U.S. Humane Society's Farm Animal Protection Campaignthe National Mill Dog Rescue in Colorado Springs, and the Boulder Humane Society. She has focused on rehabilitating pit bulls, because she knows what it is to be misunderstood. Michelle is also a volunteer with the Denver Dumb Friends League Harmony Rescue Center in Colorado, a shelter for abused and neglected horses.

Her Mission

Michelle teaches yoga to help everyone find stability on the mat and clarity in life. Her passion is to meet each student where they are, and provide a strategy for strength and ease in the body. Through a balance of alignment and movement, Michelle helps students realize a deeper awareness in their practice and the inner life. She is known for bringing a modern, light touch to the ancient philosophy. Her class will have you laughing through the tears to enlightenment.

Michelle is an E-RYT 500 and YACEP accredited teacher with Yoga Alliance. In 2023, Michelle became a certified mobility and functional movement specialist with FRC. She has been practicing yoga and movement steadily since 1995.
