2026: Cultivating Wabi Sabi

Welcome to the year of the horse, and I have a horse. I’ve asked him about the deeper meaning of this year, and he responded with a request for more carrots. Ralph was lame when I bought him. His conformation is not great - a crooked leg and a club foot which led to long toe and navicular. The outlook for a lame horse with poor conformation is not great. However, we have worked diligently and he is now mostly sound. We can ride Dressage and on the trails and are having a grand old time.

Wabi Sabi is the Japenese art of appreciating the beauty in imperfect things. While Ralph has limitations, he has the sweetest temperament. His “try” is high because he has so much to overcome. He is not unlike many of us who are not perfect, but we soldier on. I am inspired by my horse, and by the concept of Wabi Sabi, and so it is this year’s theme.

I can’t believe it’s been three years since becoming certified in Functional Range Conditioning and mobility. The Kinstretch model is excellent and serves everyone. I am so happy with the mobility path. While flexibility gives us range, mobility gives us strength, particularly around the joints. Find me at The Lion’s Den in Greenwood Village.

One Yoga Denver 300 YTT in Hatha yoga

I am pleased to lead the 300 level yoga teacher training for One Yoga. This training is certified by Yoga Alliance, and will focus on alignment and flow, with a special emphasis on yoga texts, philosophy and practice. We study the Bhagavad Gita, the Pradipika, the Sutras and modern-day texts on yoga. We’ll practice our pants off, and immerse ourselves in all things yoga. My intention is that every participant develops a deep and personal relationship with the self that transforms their practice, and their life.
